Ramakrishna Math, Pune is a spiritual organization which works on the guidelines laid down by Swami Vivekananda for the regeneration of India. The work is carried out in two spheres: spiritual and social. After the consecration of the Universal Temple in 2002, the Math has started many new projects in educational and health fields in the urban and remote areas of Pune district. It is noteworthy that the citizens and the youth of Pune are participating in the projects with an abundant enthusiasm .We are grateful to them.

Some of our projects, such as Computer Training Institute, ‘Prajnavardhini’, Study Room for students, and the book shop for the Ramakrishna-Vivekananda Vedanta Literature are accommodated in the Virajananda Smriti Bhavan. The growing response of the beneficiaries and the nature of these activities necessitate more space. We now find that , to carry out these activities efficiently and to accommodate more beneficiaries , we have to shift the activities to a new building .

The Math has decided to construct a new building, with modern facilities, and shift all the public welfare projects in the new building. The proposed four storey building will have an area of 1792 sq. metres, with a provision to add another three floors in the future. The architects have designed the building such that it is protected from the air and noise pollution which is prevalent on adjacent road. The new building will also have an elevator, and will have adequate parking space.

The estimated cost of the 4 floors, with today’s prices is Rs 3 crores. You have always supported the activities of the Math by extending financial help. We appeal to you to donate generously for this noble cause. In case of any queries, you are welcome to contact the Math office.

Thanking you and looking forward to an encouraging response.

Yours in the Lord,

(Swami Bhaumananda)
President

Architectural Concept

The proposed multi-purpose building is conceived to relate aesthetically and characteristically to Ramakrishna Mandir within the campus. The façade therefore is made up of composition of two stone walls, one which is local Deccan stone and other Red Agra Stone. The entrance will be of tall and slender columns similar to temple entrance.
The façade wall consists of large square openings filled with red sandstone jails and glass blocks. This gesture is meant to evoke resemblance to the traditional architecture of Rajasthana which consists of large stone facades articulated by jharokas. The proposed wall therefore is contemporary response of Traditional Indian Architecture.

Total cost of the project is about Rs.3 crores.
