Confusing social currents and fierce competition bewilders today’s youth. Today's education system lacks in addressing basic moral & ethical values which leads to problems of the youth.  Ramakrishna Math, Pune has organized a forum for discussion and guidance on Sunday evenings. In this forum, the problems of the youth are discussed and the guidance in the light of philosophy & teachings of Sri Ramakrishna – Swami Vivekananda – Vedanta is provided. Currently, Swami Suvijneyananda, Swami Atmavikasananda & others talks to youth in this forum. The main objectives & features of this forum are given below.

We periodically arrange youth retreats and youth conventions for the benefit of youth. Youth from local colleges are invited to attend these camps, which are conducted by monks of the Ramakrishna Order and/or key personalities from the education field.

Topics such as personality development, positive thinking etc. are discussed in these camps. Each camp is differently set up so that the participants have a different focus in each particular camp. For example, one particular camp may focus on leadership skills and how to tackle problems with a team. We put them through group-discussions which force participation from the participants as well as test their abilities to frame ideas into words as quickly as possible.

Inspirational movies, case studies from industry, etc. are also used in these sessions. A typical workshop is a 2 day affair with us providing sthe participants with breakfast, lunch and snacks throughout the day. There is a small fee for the workshop and the participants are requested to call in advance or come by the Prajnavardhini Office and register their names. Since the program is very popular, you will do well to contact early, to avoid disappointment later.

    Yuva-Vedh

Yuva-Vedh is a program for the students of Secondary, Higher Secondary Schools and Junior Colleges.

    • 1) To create an awareness among the school and college students about our Indian culture and traditions through lectures.

    • 2) To introduce them to ethics and morality, lives and teachings of our Saints etc.

We are approaching number of schools and colleges for the lectures and they are welcoming us everywhere. The response so far for this activity is overwhelming. This way we hope to propagate the message of Swami Vivekananda more effectively.
