Project Details

The Swami Vivekananda Seva Sankalpa is a service project contest for the youth. Junior, senior and post graduate college students can participate in the competition.

Aims of the Project :

  • To kindle the spirit of service in the youth
  • To lay the foundation for building an India as envisioned by Swami Vivekananda
  • To inspire the youth and help them to understand their role in nation building.

Nature of the project :

  • The participants in the competition will work in a team consisting of minimum 2 members and maximum 5 members
  • The participants have to choose a suitable project which will the help the poor and the downtrodden as well will help in building the nation.
  • The team will implement the project over a duration of one month.
  • At the end of the project period the participants will prepare a report documenting the project in the prescribed format and mail the soft and hard copy of the project to the Ramakrishna Math, Pune.
  • Out of all the participating teams, 150 teams will be shortlisted and they will be invited to participate in the semi-final and final round which will be held at Ramakrishna Math, Pune. The shortlisted teams will be intimated by sms or email.
  • The final round will be held on the 18th of September 2011.

Project Selection :

You can select any need-based seva project (social service) which will help the poor and the downtrodden as well will help in building the nation. We give more importance to service done directly to human beings than ecological or technical projects. Please have faith in yourself. You can do wonderful seva without a paisa in your pocket.

Sample Projects include :

  • Relief – Providing food, clothing, medicines etc. to the poor people.
  • Coaching – Providing free coaching to poor children.
  • Assistance – Assisting handicapped, orphans, blind people etc.
  • Health - Spreading health and hygiene awareness among the masses
  • Rural Development – Constructing and developing like well, tank, sanitation facilities
  • Value Education – Organising lectures, selling books etc. for spreading the life and message of Swami Vivekananda.

Prizes:

  1. First prize - Rs.15,000/- (Rs. Fifteen Thousand only) and Swami Vivekananda seva medal
  2. Second prize - Rs.10,000/- (Rs. Ten Thousand only) and Swami Vivekananda seva medal
  3. Third prize - Rs.8,000/- (Rs. Eight Thousand only) and Swami Vivekananda seva medal
  4. Consolation prizes for Seventeen teams of Rs.1000/- each along with Swami Vivekananda seva medal

The results of this Challenge will be declared on our website. The semi-final and the final round will be held on the 17th and 18th of September 2011, respectively.
The winners of this Challenge will be ceremoniously awarded the prizes by dignitaries during the final day programme.

The participants of the final day will be provided :

  1. Rs. 600/- per team as traveling expenses
  2. Swami Vivekananda seva Medal
  3. Gift book
  4. CD Containing all the projects
  5. Certificate
  6. Breakfast, lunch, snacks etc. and other benefits which will be announced on the final day

The decision of the judges will be final and binding. No correspondence written, or through any other medium regarding the clarification of the decision will be entertained.

Registration

The last date for registration is 15th July 2011.
The entry forms should reach 'Ramakrishna Math, 131/1 A, Near Dandekar Bridge, Sinhagad Road, Pune-411030', by 15th July 2011.
Registration Fee of Rs.100/- in the form of Demand draft drawn from any bank in favor of 'Ramakrishna Math, Pune' payable at Pune should be sent along with the entry form. The principal’s signature and college seal are important. Without these the entry forms will not be accepted.

Project Implementation

A period of one month

Project Report Submission

The last date for Project Report Submission is 20th August 2011.

The project report should be handwritten or printed on A4 size page.
The report may be prepared in English, Hindi or Marathi language.
The hard copy of the project report along with a CD containing the softcopy (scans in case of handwritten reports) and relevant project photographs should be mailed by speed post to : 'Ramakrishna Math, 131/1 A, Near Dandekar Bridge, Sinhagad Road, Pune-411030.'

At the outset, we congratulate you all for taking active interest in participating in the Swami Vivekananda Seva Sankalpa Competition.
You will be happy to know that your project has been selected for semi-final round presentation competition to be held on 18th September, 2011 in a day long programme organized in the premises of Ramakrishna Math, 131/1A  Near Dandekar Bridge, Pune 411 030 between 8.30 am to 5 pm.  

You are cordially invited to make a brief oral and not a power point presentation of your project for about 8 minutes (approximately). 

The Oral Presentation will be for 8 minutes.  Your presentation will be in the form of answer to the questions

  • Please check the spelling of the names which we have sent you already by e mail. Please go through it, if there is any discrepancy, please convey it to us.  Later on we will not accept any corrections in certificates.
  • Please note that we will not be able to send the certificates or medals by post.
  • For outstation participants:
  1. We shall provide Rs. 600/-  per team as travelling expenses  for teams coming from out of Pune.
  2. Also, We have made arrangements for accommodation for those who are coming from out of Pune.  Separate halls are booked for boys and girls.  Our volunteers (Ladies and Gents) will be available there and they will guide you in the matters of your stay and other conveniences.  Please note that for girl students, we allow guardians to accompany them. Accomodation is available for  guardians also.

    Please reach there directly.  The check-in timing is Saturday, September, 17th at 6.30 p.m. and check-out time is Sunday, September, 18th at 6.30 p.m.  Please book your travel tickets accordingly in advance so that you can reach here at the proper time.  If you reach Pune at the early morning hours of September, 18th then also you can use the facility to keep your bag and baggage, bathing, etc.
