Swami Vivekananda laid great emphasis on ‘man-making’, implying that both men and woman should be endowed with virtues such as strength, fearlessness, faith in oneself and have a strong moral character thus making themselves fit to be called humans. This literature enables the human race to have a firm moral and spiritual foundation on which the edifice of life is built.
Ramakrishna Math publishes books on Ramakrishna-Vivekananda-Vedanta literature in English, Hindi, Marathi, Guajarati, Sanskrit, Nepali and a few other languages, through its various publication centres.
At our Pune campus, two arrangements are made to make Sri Ramakrishna –Vivekananda- Vedanta Literature available for visitors.
Ramakrishna Math provides a library facility with a large number of books. This library mainly consists of books on Philosophy, Religion, Spirituality, Science, Social Sciences and Biographies. Reference books like Encyclopedias, Jnankoshas, Dictionaries and Magazines are also available in the library.
Rules and Regulations
- The working hours of the library are :
8:30 am to 11:30 am and 5:30 pm to 8:00 pm.
Library will remain closed every Wednesday and on selected public holidays. - The membership charges are as follows :
Rs. 200 (Library Deposit)
Rs. 240 (Annual Subscription from April to March, Rs. 20 per month)
Total charges : Rs. 440.
Photocopy of an address proof (e.g. Aadhar / Passport / Driving License etc.) and two passport size photos are needed for membership application. - Reading the books inside the library does not need the library membership. Reading outside books is strictly prohibited.
- Please ask the librarian for any book by mentioning the accession ID of the book on the provided slip or request the librarian to find out the accession ID on the computer.
- The members are allowed to take two books at a time. Books are issued for a period of 15 days. They can be renewed only twice.
- Members can renew the books over the phone call or message. The members are required to give their membership number and the book accession ID to librarian, to renew the books.

- Reference books are for reading inside the library only. They are not supposed to be taken out from the library.
